ACADEMICAL DRESS
CERTIFICATE (CertOGM)
Gown: A black gown of the Oxford BA pattern.
Hood: A black hood of the Oxford simple shape bound on the cowl with 2" of mid-blue silk.
ASSOCIATE (AOGM)
Gown: A black gown of the Oxford BA pattern.
Hood: A black hood of the Oxford simple shape lined with mid-blue silk and bound on the cowl with 1" of red St Aidan damask.
LICENTIATE (LOGM)
Gown: A black gown of the Oxford BA pattern.
Hood: A black hood of the Oxford Burgon shape lined with mid-blue silk and bound on the cowl with 2" of red St Aidan damask.
FELLOW (FOGM)
Gown: A black gown of the Oxford MA pattern.
Hood: A hood of the Oxford Doctors shape in red St Aidan damask lined with mid-blue silk.
HONORARY LIFE MEMBERSHIP (HonOGM)
Gown: A black gown of the Oxford MA pattern.
Hood: A hood of the Oxford Burgon shape in red St Aidan damask lined with mid-blue silk.
OFFICERS (All of whom must be Fellows)
Gown: In Full Dress officers wear a gown of the Oxford MA pattern with 3/4" of Benet braid around the arm slit and down the outside edge of the facings: the Registrar has gold and all other officers have silver braid. In undress the officers wear the fellows gown.
Hood: As for the Fellows hood.
PROVOST
The Provost wears a Full Dress Robe of the Oxford Doctors pattern in red St Aidan damask with sleeves and facings of mid-blue silk: the hood is not worn with this robe. In undress the fellows gown is worn.
HEADWEAR
Officers of the Guild wear a black velvet Bishop Andrewes cap. In undress officers and all other diploma holders wear a black mortar board.
These robes may only be obtained from the official robe maker, J. Wippell & Co. Ltd. PO Box 1, 88 Buller Road, Exeter. EX4 1DQ. A form of authorisation from the Registrar of the Guild must accompany all applications for academic dress.
